About the AI Budget Guardrail

Most AI cost calculators answer 'is this worth it?' but not 'given a hard budget, how do I stay under it and still be cheaper than a human?' The AI Budget Guardrail starts from your monthly cap. Enter fixed seat cost, per-task AI cost, expected/low/high demand, and the human alternative (minutes per task at your loaded labor rate). The model returns the max tasks your budget buys after review overhead and a quality haircut, the break-even volume where AI stops beating human, and a throttle recommendation for the demand curve you actually see.

How is the break-even volume calculated?+

fixed_cost / (human_per_task − ai_per_task_all_in). Below that volume, the fixed cost doesn't amortize and a human is cheaper. Above it, AI wins per marginal task.

Why include a quality haircut?+
